Summer Sports Camps on the North Fork

Whether your child wants to spend a week on tennis courts, in a gym, or out on the water, you'll find a dozen options on and around the North Fork. Some focus on a single sport. Others offer a mix of games, team sports, water activities, and free play. A few are designed especially for the youngest children.

Sports camps for preschoolers

At this age, sports camps are more about movement, simple games, and coordination than formal training. These programs let kids run, try basic sports, build stamina, and learn to be part of a team.

At the Riverhead location, younger campers follow a full-day schedule with lots of movement and can use campus features like the water park. Children ages 4 and 5 can also stay for a longer day.

Ages 3 to 5, full-day. Eight weeks from June 29.

SPORTIME Quogue Preschool Camp

SPORTIME Quogue has a preschool camp for ages 3 to 5 in East Quogue. The day includes tennis, swim lessons, multi-sport games, and arts and crafts. This gives younger campers an active introduction to a sports-club setting.

Ages 3 to 5. Regular day runs 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, with an extended option until 4:00 pm. Programs run June 29 through September 4.

Tennis camps

Tennis camps are good for kids who want to spend most of the day focused on one sport. Both programs group campers by age and skill level, with options for beginners and more experienced players.

Future Stars Tennis in Westhampton Beach

Future Stars Tennis Camp is held at Aspatuck Club in Westhampton Beach. Campers play on Har-Tru courts and spend the week practicing strokes, match play, and tournaments.

This camp is more focused on tennis, especially for kids who want a full day built around court time.

Ages 6 to 15, full-day. Ten weeks from June 22.

SPORTIME Quogue Tennis Programs

SPORTIME Quogue runs three tennis tracks for kids ages 7 to 14, grouped by age and skill. Two are tennis-only; the third mixes tennis with other sports. All include drills, games, and match play.

This is the more varied option, with different levels and a shorter or longer day depending on the track.

Ages 7 to 14. Day length varies by track. Programs run June 29 through September 4.

Gymnastics, ninja, and cheer

These programs are active and focus on building skills but differ from traditional team sports. They are a good choice for kids who like climbing, jumping, tumbling, obstacle courses, dance, or performing.

Flip-Flop Gymnastics Summer Camp

Flip-Flop Gymnastics in Westhampton Beach offers gymnastics and ninja summer camps for kids ages 3 to 16. Campers spend several hours each day practicing with coaches and moving through stations on beams, bars, and trampolines.

Ages 3 to 16, half-day. Nine weeks from June 29.

North Fork Cheer Summer Camps

Ages 4 to 13, full-day. Seven weeks from July 6.

Sailing and water sports

Water-based camps are a bigger step than most sports programs. They offer a great summer experience, but families should consider swimming ability, age requirements, and equipment needs before signing up.

Orient Yacht Club Junior Sailing

Orient Yacht Club has a junior program for kids ages 8 and up. The program uses Optimists for solo sailing and 420s for two-person teams. Sailors progress through levels, from basic rigging and boat handling to racing tactics and competitive regattas.

Ages 8 to 18, half-day. Eight weeks from June 29.

Peconic Water Sports Camp

Groups are small, with no more than six kids per boat. Families can choose single days or full weeks, so it is easier to fit into the busy summer schedule.

Ages 5 to 14, half-day. Seven weeks from June 22 at most locations.
