Contact email addresses are used for follow-up and operational purposes and are not published without the program provider's express authorization.
Submitter contact information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to review the submission, communicate with the submitter and/or the relevant program provider, and complete any related follow-up, after which it will be deleted, anonymized, or retained only as otherwise required or permitted by law.
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
- Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Learn more about withdrawing your consent.
- Performance of a Contract. We may process your personal information when we believe it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, including providing our Services or at your request, prior to entering into a contract with you.
- Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms. For example, we may process your personal information for some of the purposes described in order to:
- Analyze how our Services are used so we can improve them to engage and retain users
- Support our marketing activities
- Diagnose problems and/or prevent fraudulent activities
- Understand how our users use our products and services so we can improve user experience
- Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.
We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or, where permitted by applicable law, in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including for investigations, fraud detection and prevention, to comply with a subpoena, warrant, or court order, or where the information is publicly available and specified by applicable regulation.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following categories of third parties.

Third-Party Links. Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, including affiliate links, program listings, and external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or availability of those third parties, and this Privacy Notice does not apply to their websites. Our service providers may transfer, store, and process your information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Regardless of your location, your information may be processed in countries outside your own.
Where required under applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, which may include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms implemented by the relevant provider or parties involved.
6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including providing and improving the website, maintaining listings, sending newsletters, responding to inquiries, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. If we do not have a specific retention period for a particular category of information, we use criteria such as the nature of our relationship with the user, the sensitivity of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, and our legitimate business needs to determine how long to retain it. We may also retain certain information for a reasonable period thereafter for backup, archival, fraud prevention, security, tax, accounting, or legal compliance purposes. When we no longer have a legitimate need to retain personal information, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, unless retention is required or permitted by law.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age under applicable law in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age under applicable law in your jurisdiction), nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. North Fork Bright is intended for parents, guardians, caregivers, and other adults. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age under applicable law in your jurisdiction), please contact us at privacy@northforkbright.com.
9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Depending on your state of residence in the US or in some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) to object to certain processing of your personal information; and (v), if applicable, to data portability. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal, nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES AND ONLINE TRACKING
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals in a uniform way because no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing them has been finalized. However, we may permit third parties such as analytics providers, affiliate partners, advertising partners, embedded content providers, or similar service providers to collect technical or usage information through our Services, and those third parties may have their own privacy practices. If applicable law requires us to respond differently to a browser-based opt-out preference signal, we will do so as required and update this Privacy Notice.
11. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Depending on your state of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.
Residents of certain U.S. states may have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal information, obtain a copy of their personal information, and, where applicable, withdraw consent or opt out of certain processing of their personal information, or request details about how it has been used. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@northforkbright.com or visit https://northforkbright.com/contact. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable law.
12. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
