5 Drop-Off Programs for Kids on Columbus Day

School is out on Monday, October 12, for Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day. If you need a few hours of childcare, or your kids just want something to do, here are five drop-off programs on the North Fork and nearby.

Wicked Workshop at Inspire Dance Centre

Southold

Inspire Dance Centre is bringing a little Wicked magic to the school holiday. This two-hour workshop combines dancing, music, crafts, and games inspired by Glinda and Elphaba.

Ages 3 to 9, 9:30 to 11:30 am.

Junior Multi-Sport Camp at SPORTIME Quogue

East Quogue

For kids who would rather spend their morning running around, SPORTIME Quogue is offering a three-hour multi-sport camp. The program mixes tennis with other sports and group games.

Ages 3 to 14, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Tennis Camp at SPORTIME Quogue

East Quogue

SPORTIME also has an afternoon session for kids who like tennis. Campers will practice their strokes, play games, and try out new strategies in friendly matches.

Sephora-Inspired Glam Day at Bella Anima

Wading River

Bella Anima is hosting a three-hour, Sephora-inspired event with creative crafts and all things glam.

ArtSea Halloween Workshop: Burlap Ghosts & Shell Painting

Hampton Bays

A creative afternoon with a coastal Halloween twist. CCE's Back to the Bays program is hosting a workshop where kids can make spooky decorations and paint seashells.

Kids will also get a chance to meet local marine creatures at the facility's touch tank.

Ages 7 to 11, 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Prices are listed on each program's registration page, linked in the headings above. Small programs often fill up fast, so it's worth signing up early.
