Autumn Lantern Walk at Hallock State Park

Long Island State Parks is organizing an evening lantern walk at Hallock State Park Preserve in Riverhead. Families can explore the park's forest trails and coastal areas as the sun goes down and see how the landscape changes after dark.

This guided walk lets you see the park in a new way, with lanterns lighting the path under the evening sky. You'll look and listen for wildlife that's easier to spot at night. Lanterns are provided for registered participants, or you can bring your own battery-powered lantern.

Sunday, October 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Hallock State Park Preserve, 6062 Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Registration is required. Contact the park at (631) 315-5475 or hallocksp@parks.ny.gov.

Details are on the Autumn Lantern Walk page at New York State Parks.
