Native American Talking Stick Workshop

Group for the East End is hosting a hands-on talking stick workshop at Downs Farm Preserve in Cutchogue. Environmental artist and educator Tony Valderrama will lead the session, showing how talking sticks are used as symbols of respect in group conversations. Everyone will get to make their own talking stick using driftwood, beads, feathers, and pigments.

The workshop will also feature examples of Native American art and musical instruments.

Tuesday, October 13, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Downs Farm Preserve, 23800 Main Road, Cutchogue. $20 per person. Advance registration is required; space and materials are limited.
