School of Rock Riverhead offers two beginner music camps during the same week in August, each for kids with no prior musical experience.
Rookies Camp is for children ages 5 to 7. Over five mornings, they get to try out bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Kids also learn basic music concepts through games and hands-on activities.
Rock 101 Camp is for kids ages 7 to 12. In the afternoons, they learn instrument basics and music fundamentals through hands-on activities.
Each camp ends with a performance on Friday.
Rookies Camp runs August 3–7 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and costs $250. Rock 101 runs August 3–7 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and costs $350.
