The New York Marine Rescue Center runs a three-day workshop for students entering 6th through 8th grade who are interested in marine life and animal rescue. Based out of the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, the program gives kids a closer look at rescue, rehabilitation, and release through hands-on projects, labs, lectures, and mock strandings. It feels more focused than a typical camp and would be a good fit for kids who are genuinely curious about marine animals and how rescue work is done.
The workshop runs Tue-Thur from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and costs $400 per session. There are two sessions in 2026: July 21-23 and August 18-20.
