Sweet Potato Harvest at Sylvester Manor

Sylvester Manor on Shelter Island invites volunteers to spend a fall morning helping the farm crew harvest sweet potatoes. They'll go into the fields to dig up the crop and experience a small part of the work that goes into growing local food.

This harvest helps the farm provide fresh produce to local families in need. Everyone can stay as long as they like, and sweet treats will be given as a thank-you. It's recommended to bring gardening gloves and knee pads if you have them.

Saturday, October 10, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Sylvester Manor Farm, 80 North Ferry Road, Shelter Island.

Details are on the Sweet Potato Harvest page at Sylvester Manor.
