About the program

WHBPAC Arts Academy offers weekly theatre programs all summer long, with options ranging from half-day workshops for kindergarteners to a full Broadway-style intensive for teens. Every program wraps up with a live performance on the WHBPAC Mainstage.

Musicals of the Magic Kingdom · Ages 5–6
July 20–23 · Mon–Thu · 9 am–12 pm
This morning program is made for our youngest performers and features songs from Disney and other movies. Over four days, kids get to try singing, movement, and basic stage skills, finishing with a show for their families.

Musical Theatre Camp · Ages 6–14
July 6–10 · July 13–17 · August 10–14 · Mon–Thu 10 am–4 pm, Fri 1–7 pm
Each of the three weeks features a different show. Kids start on Monday without a role and by Friday, they perform in full costume with sets in front of an audience. Productions are part of Missoula Children's Theatre's touring program, and WHBPAC teaching artists lead workshops alongside. Ages 6–7 and 8 and up work in separate groups. This summer’s shows are Peter and Wendy, The Tortoise and the Hare, and The Wiz of the West.

Tween Theatre · Ages 8–13
July 27–30 · August 17–21 · 10 am–4 pm
Two weeks, two different approaches. Olympic Village (July 27–30, Mon–Thu) is an original show created by WHBPAC's staff, and every kid gets a meaningful part. During the week, teaching artists help campers build their characters and acting skills before the Thursday performance.

Twisted Fairytales (August 17–21, Mon–Fri) is perfect for kids who want to create their own story instead of performing someone else’s script. They’ll write a fairytale musical from scratch, including the story, characters, songs, and costumes, and put it on stage by Friday.

Camp Broadway · Ages 10–17
August 3–7 · Mon–Fri · 9 am–5 pm
This week-long intensive is led by real Broadway professionals and focuses on acting, vocals, and dance. The week leads up to a full production of The Addams Family. On Thursday, the group takes a charter bus to NYC to see a Broadway show. This summer, it is The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Weekly tuition starts at $375 for the youngest campers and ranges up to $675, or $875 for Camp Broadway. Check with WHBPAC directly for current pricing.
