Miss Ashley's Nest is an outdoor summer camp in Jamesport for children ages 2 to 8. The camp sits on almost an acre, with open farm fields stretching out behind the yard. Miss Ashley keeps enrollment small so every child gets lots of attention. Each day follows a gentle rhythm, with free play, circle time under the trees, snack, and an hour spent in the garden and caring for the chickens and ducks. Fable, the resident bunny, loves to be petted.
During the week, children pick flowers, play in sprinklers, bake, and do crafts. Each week brings a new theme. This summer, it's Stars and Wands, Ice Painting and Popsicle Making, 1920s Hand-Cranked Ice Cream and Zucchini Muffins from the Garden, Butterfly Wings, Making Fairies, Painting with Flowers and Bubbles, Weaving Flower Crowns, and Pressed Flower Candles.
Eight sessions run June 29 through August 21, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Tuition is $450 per week per child, or $850 for two children.
