About the program

Future Stars offers a sports and enrichment day camp for kids ages 6–16 at Suffolk County Community College's Eastern Campus in Riverhead. Each week, campers can sign up for one specialty track. The campus features a 25-yard indoor heated pool, a water park, a gym, and outdoor fields. Most programs include a daily recreational swim.

Adventure · Ages 6–15
July 13 to August 21, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
This week, campers do something different each day: water safety and swim lessons on Monday, kayaking and paddle boarding on Tuesday, a fishing trip on Wednesday, surfing lessons with Island Surf School on Thursday, and a hike at Quogue Wildlife Refuge or Cupsogue Beach on Friday. This program helps kids build outdoor skills, physical confidence, and environmental awareness.

Art · Ages 6–15
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Each week, campers follow a project-based curriculum and try out different art materials and techniques. These include portraits, papier-mache, tie-dye, pottery, and beaded jewelry. Working through projects each day helps build focus, creative confidence, and the ability to finish what they start. At the end of the week, campers show their work in an Art Exhibit.

Minecraft · Ages 6–15
July 20 to 31, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Campers learn Java programming by modding Minecraft. They write code to create custom items, design new environments, and program the behavior of custom creatures. The curriculum covers variables, loops, conditionals, and debugging, so kids learn real coding basics while working with a game they already know and enjoy.

STEAM · Ages 6–15
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Created with MakeInspires, this program includes 3D design and printing, circuits and robotics, video game creation, stop-motion filmmaking, and science experiments. Campers take each project from idea to finished product, building problem-solving skills and learning to keep trying when things don't work the first time.

Basketball · Ages 6–15
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Every day, campers practice dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense through stations, league play, drills, scrimmages, and skills competitions.

Flag Football · Ages 6–15
July 27 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
This non-contact program teaches passing, receiving, footwork, and field awareness through 1-on-1 drills and 5-on-5 league play. It helps campers build speed, agility, and football basics, whether they are beginners or have played before.

Lacrosse · Ages 6–15
July 20 to August 21, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Campers practice cradling, scooping, throwing, catching, and shooting through positional training and small-sided games 1-on-1, 2-on-2, and 3-on-3. This practice helps kids use their skills in real game situations right away. Groups are divided by age and skill level.

Multi-Sport · Ages 6–15
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Campers try out soccer, basketball, tennis, flag football, gaga, ultimate frisbee, and speedball. This program is great for kids who haven't picked a favorite sport yet or who just like variety. Each day offers new challenges and different skills to practice.

Soccer · Ages 6–14
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Throughout the week, campers work on technical drills and small-sided play. As their skills grow, they learn more about tactics. Each session ends with practice matches, and the week wraps up with an end-of-week competition.

Swim · Ages 6–16
June 29 to August 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Campers work on stroke mechanics, as well as starts, turns, kick sets, dry-land conditioning, and race strategy. This program is for recreational swimmers looking to improve their technique and build speed. The curriculum follows American Red Cross standards.

Most programs run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, June 29 to August 21. Adventure ends at 3:00 pm, July 13 to August 21. Tuition is $750 per week for most sports (basketball, flag football, lacrosse, multi-sport, soccer), $850 per week for swim, STEAM, Minecraft, and art, and $1,050 per week for adventure.
