North Fork Arts Center offers a six-week summer writing workshop for students ages 16 and up. Mira Johnson leads the workshop, giving older teens a place to write, revise, read closely, and discuss writing in small groups.
Students work on original pieces while exploring character, voice, dialogue, description, figurative language, and story structure.
Classes are Saturdays, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, on June 13, 20, 27, July 11, 18, and 25. Tuition is $200, and the workshop is limited to 15 writers.
North Fork Arts Center also offers summer camps in improv, singing, animation, and musical theater for younger kids and teens.
