VEME Studios is an art studio on Greenport's Bootleg Alley with a genuine focus on creative freedom and self-expression. This summer, they offer two programs: a weekly themed art camp for younger kids and a pottery intensive for teens.
Creators Club · Ages 6–13
Each week has a different theme: Outer Space, Modern Cubism and Pop Art, Treasure Hunters, Botanicals, and a final week that brings back favorite projects. Kids work with materials like clay, paint, collage, printmaking, and mixed media. Each day includes mindfulness practice and sketchbook time. Classes are limited to 10 students, and all materials are included.
Creators Club runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and costs $490 per week. Sessions are available June 29, July 13, July 27, August 10, and August 24.
Pottery Week · Ages 12–17
This five-day program teaches students how to build with clay using slab, pinch, and coil techniques. The week starts with skill-building and then gives students time to experiment freely, ending with underglaze decoration. All pieces are kiln-fired. Finished work can be picked up a few weeks after camp or shipped for an extra fee. No experience needed. All materials and firing are included.
Pottery Week runs Monday through Friday, August 17–21, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and costs $550.
