The Town of Riverhead offers a summer day camp for children entering grades 1 to 6 and a separate Teen Camp for those entering grades 7 and 8. Youth Camp takes place at the George Young Community Center in Jamesport and at another school location to be announced soon. Teen Camp is held at the Aquebogue school.
Youth Camp · Entering Grades 1–6
Youth Camp is open Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm. There is an optional early morning program from 7:30 to 8:45 am for an extra fee. Week 1 (June 29 to July 2) is a four-day week, and there is no camp on July 3. Weeks 1 and 8 are only at the George Young Community Center. All other weeks are at both locations.
Teen Camp · Entering Grades 7–8
Teen Camp runs Monday through Thursday, 8:45 am to 4:45 pm at the Aquebogue school location. Sessions run July 6 through August 14.
To register, drop off or mail your forms with payment to the Recreation Department at 4 West Second St. in Riverhead, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Email registrations are not accepted. Children must have a physical and immunization record from within the past year before attending. Make sure all lunches and snacks are nut-free.
Eight sessions run June 29 through August 21. Youth Camp costs $230 per week for residents ($185 for week 1) and $270 for non-residents ($225 for week 1). Teen Camp costs $280 per week for residents and $320 for non-residents. The Early Morning Program is $30 per session.
