School of Rock Riverhead offers three themed music camps during the summer. Each camp focuses on a different artist or genre. Students who already have some musical experience learn songs, practice as a band, and perform live on Friday.
Songwriting Camp (July 6–10, ages 12–18): Students study and write songs, learn about chord progressions, arrangements, and song structure, and explore music from the past sixty years.
Best of the 90s Camp (July 20–24, ages 8–18): This camp focuses on alternative rock and grunge, featuring songs by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green Day, and Weezer.
Ramones Camp (August 17–21, ages 8–18): Campers learn and perform music by The Ramones and discover the simple style that shaped early punk rock.
All three camps run Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and cost $550 per week.
