About the program

The North Fork Arts Center in Greenport offers a variety of summer workshops for kids and teens. Children can try improv, singing, animation, or musical theater, all in small groups led by experienced artists and educators.

Improv Comedy Workshop · Ages 11–15
Katy Berry leads this five-day improv workshop for ages 11 to 15. She is a comedian, writer, and screenwriting instructor at the New York Film Academy in New York City.

During the week, kids learn core improv skills such as "yes, and," world building, and quick thinking through games and group activities. The workshop is beginner-friendly and helps kids gain confidence, improve communication, and feel comfortable performing. At the end of the week, there is a live show for family and friends on Saturday.

The workshop runs Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Early bird tuition is $450. Limited to 16 students.

Summer Singing Camp · Ages 9–14
Erika Tuthill Cabral, the Music Director at Greenport School District, leads this one-week singing camp.

Campers practice vocal technique, harmonies, and stage presence while singing songs from pop, Broadway, classics, and Disney. The camp is supportive and focused on performing, and ends with a showcase for families.

The camp runs Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Early bird tuition is $450.

Introductory Animation Workshop · Ages 6+
Elanna Allen and Jimena Faerber lead this three-day workshop on pixelation, a type of stop-motion animation where people act as the characters.

Kids will storyboard, build sets and props, and make their own short films during the workshop. At the end, there is a screening for family and friends on Saturday, July 25. No experience is needed.

The workshop runs Wednesday, July 22 through Friday, July 24, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Early bird tuition is $250. Limited to 12 students.

Page to Stage Musical Theater Camp · Ages 7–12
This musical theater camp is led by teaching artists from Our Fabulous Variety Show, a local nonprofit performing arts group.

During the week, kids work together to create an original musical, practicing acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling. The camp encourages collaboration, builds confidence, and helps kids feel comfortable on stage. Each session ends with a showcase for families.

The camp runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Early bird tuition is $450 per session. Session 1 runs August 3–7; Session 2 runs August 10–14. Limited to 15 students per session.
